I would say that I like I'm a lot better than the MPD. If you're trying to start making beats or are trying to transition from computer to MPC or vice a versa, I'd say this a good option to start with. I would s ay if you have the money to get either of the latter 2, That's the direction I would go. Primarily this was an option to get something new when I couldn't afford the live or the MPCX. I'm still getting used to it and getting to know it but if you're a classic akai MPC person, I think that you can definitely find the benefits of the set up. I especially love the ability to plug directly into the touch and record over from vinyl under the computer.

It's nice having the benefit A both the software and the hardware to make the beat. Once installed though it does exactly what you think it does. There is a decent amount of software that needs to be downloaded and updated in order for the unit to work correctly. I'm a classic akai MPC guy so I was intrested in the computer aspect as well as the controller.

I kind of knew what I was getting into before purchasing this unit.
